A PHABULOUS 12 YEARS!
It was Tuesday 15th July 2008, a date that signalled the start of a phabulous new era as Fairfield Phab opened its doors for the very first Phab session in our new home of The Ark. More than 500 sessions later and we can safely say it has been an awesome twelve years. There have been a few changes along the way, most notably the change of name to Phab Liverpool.
Through the years we have always had a fantastic team of volunteers that have ensued we are able to deliver our projects, and although the faces may change from time to time, we would not be where we are today without the help and support from each individual volunteer and for this, we will always be eternally grateful.
As a non-profit organisation, fundraising will always play an integral role and we have had members of the Phab Liverpool Team, plus other supporters, that have completed the Santa Dash each year since 2008, to ensure we raise funds that have allowed us to deliver our projects and services.
Our organisation is affiliated to Phab Limited and we form a network of more than 100 Phab Clubs across England and Wales. Phab inspires and supports children, young people, and adults with and without disabilities to make more of life together, breaking down community barriers, reducing social isolation, and creating opportunities for inclusion.
Phab Liverpool would not be Phab Liverpool though without our members. To know the work we do, has a positive impact on the lives of our members is something that makes everything worthwhile.
We have had many wonderful projects from creating our own radio show, with Liverpool Community Radio, to our performances at St George’s Hall with our friends from In Another Place and of course all of our awesome drumming and percussion sessions with Rhythm Reaction.
We would like to thank all the individuals and organisations that have supported us through the years. We do however have to reserve a very special thank you to all of our friends at L’Arche Liverpool and words cannot express how grateful we are to be able to call The Ark the home of Phab Liverpool.
